Perdona la mia ignoranza, ma chi ci suona (a parte Steve, s'intende)?

Mi unisco alla domanda di Francesca. Neppure io ne so nulla.
Ma devo dire che i brevi spezzoni che si possono udire nel video suonano molto bene. Sarà interessante analizzare queste cover, se le vogliamo chiamare così.

Gli spezzoni suonano fin troppo bene, mi pare siano piuttosto simili agli originali, e se così fosse, che me ne faccio?

Direi che spiccano le presenze di Nik Kershaw, Steve Rothery (un bel duetto tra le chitarre dei Genesis e dei Marillion ) e di Jakko Jakszyk, reduce dall'album coi King Crimson.

...e Mikael Akerfeldt cantante e chitarra degli Opeth.

A me interessa soprattutto la resa dei brani pre-Selling, per il semplice motivo che la qualità delle registrazioni in studio lascia un po' a desiderare. Una Gian Hogweed nuovo millennio ci sta; una Eleventh Earl of Mar un po' meno, per i miei gusti...

Se non sbaglio, pochi anni fa ne fecero una versione i Transatlantic.

A me il primo Genesis Revisited è piaciuto molto per cui non posso che essere contento di questa 2° raccolta di cover.Poi fremo al pensiero di risentire Can Utility,The Lamia e Musical Box

A me invece il "Revisited 1" ha, in parte, deluso.
Soprattutto nella scelta di alcuni brani.
Ciò non toglie che mi procaccierò il 2 appena possibile....

A parte questo dubbio, revisited II sembra quantomeno interessante. Non conoscevo revisited I (atroce mancanza! ) ma penso che me lo procurerò in qualche modo il prima possibile.

Qualcuno lo ha già acquistato?

La mia canzone preferita del gruppo che più amo rifatta dall'artista che più ammiro....
Fortunatamente è poco "revisited".
Magari qualcuno potrà dire che non ha senso rifare questo brano lasciando quasi tutto invariato, ma, a parere mio, il rischio di "offendere" la sensibilità di qualcuno era alto, in un brano che riassume tutti i tratti caratteristici dei migliori Genesis.
Pensare che ha quasi 40 anni.....
No, no. A me va bene così, anche con "Lock Lomond" come introduzione.
Penso che non mi perderò questo CD.

Genesis "ben poco revisited" II.
Il pezzo è strepitoso, ma a parte l'introduzione col tradizionale inglese che io conosco come Greensleeves, che c'è di nuovo??

In effetti è poco rivisitato ,ma a me anche una minima variazione interessa sempre se si parla di questi capolavori,questa è una chicca:


Tra l'altro il disco è uscito da pochissimo e su youtube gli unici brani sono stati messi da una ragazza,ora la costringo a iscriversi qui sul forum dato che è appassionata di Genesis e di Steve

Non era mia intenzione correggerti, manco avevo letto quello che avevi scritto (come già detto).
Conosco il titolo solo perchè i Jethro Tull ne hanno fatto una versione, storpiando leggermente il titolo, contenuta nel Christmas Album.

Steve Hackett va capito; non è facile mettere mano a questi capolavori, rivisitandoli senza stravolgerli.
In questo brano ha modificato l'assolo di chitarra, parte di sua competenza anche nell'originale, con l'intreccio di due strumenti.
Il risultato, data la base di partenza, non poteva che essere bellissimo. Da quel che ho ascoltato finora il CD non lo mancherò.
Probabilmente ci saranno brani in cui sarà intervenuto più profondamente, come fece nel 1° "revisited".
Con questi 2 brani però il rischio era di infrangere qualche legge di tutela del patrimonio artistico...

Si assoulutamente,tutti i brani sono di prim'ordine,attendo il mio doppio cd che arrivi per ascoltarmi tutto,mi tengo supper's ready e can.utility per dopo .Vi dico anche che sul brano Ripples troverete una piacevole sorpresa
