a proposito di Area ho visto un bel docu su RaiStoria (buona parte è su Stratos)

RaiStoria con Rai5 è uno scrigno!
L'ho visto anch'io, ma su Sky Arte ...circa tre mesi fa.
È incentrato su Stratos; tuttavia, i commenti di Tofani, Fariselli, Djivas e Tavolazzi aggiungono sostanza e fanno capire anche a chi come ha conosciuto gli Area con Stratos nella fase terminale ('77-78) il contesto artistico e il clima sociale e politico di quegli anni.
Sentendo Arbeit Macht Frei mi rimane il rammarico della breve permanenza di Eddie Busnello che fu allontanato dal gruppo per inaffidabilità, stando a quello che racconta Tofani.
Peccato. Malgrado la mancanza del sassofonista sia stata brillantemente assorbita negli album successivi.

tra i dischi citati da qualcuno mi piace molto il John Cale di "Paris 1919" in cui sono i Little Feat (!!) a fare da backing band

Fra i Velvet Underground l'artista più colto, più raffinato, era senz'altro John Cale. Ha avuto un percorso più di culto rispetto a Lou Reed di cui non ha avuto la stessa tensione creativa per la scrittura e il racconto né la straordinaria presenza scenica sul palco, ma è stato capace di introdurre nel rock riferimenti alla musica classica contemporanea.
Insomma, ascoltandolo, ti viene voglia di scoprire il retroterra a cui si ispira nelle sue composizioni.
Paris 1919 è un ottimo compromesso fra pop e colto in una chiave abbastanza particolare e tutta individuale.
